All seems to be moving along for the Oldford Literary Festival committee. Under the decided leaders of previous civil servant Marjorie Dooks, an excellent slate of speakers has been assembled. Christine Lambert is near effective her Chief Supt. boyfriend John to appear together with crime writer David Knight, who has been employed by Oldford’s own crime author, Sue Charles.
Obviously, Knight’s appearance by itself enhances the hackles of freelance BBC producer Peter Preston, who thinks that the respect of appearing at the festival needs to be available to “real” writers like his good old friend Denzil Carter.
According to this ibooks for iPad Preston also snipes at the committee’s most youthful associates, poet Sam Hilton and artist Ros Barker, for what he take care as their naive and unknowing view of the modern day arts. But fractious as the committee may be, the powerful Mrs.
Dooks maintains them moving forward, at least right up until a number of harmful messages start to arrive at the numerous members’ doors. Even much more disturbing is the discovery of Preston’s body, shot two times through the heart-an event which enlists John Lambert, together with his Sgt. We can see in this ibook for iPad that like Marjorie’s committee, Gregson’s 14th Lambert and Hook journey plows forward steadily, offering satisfaction for fans of the grill-’em-till-you-got-’em British procedural.
